Hello friends!!
Today was an exciting day for American Heart Association! It is the 25th anniversary of jump for Heart!!! The dallas episcopal school has raised over $411,000.00 for research!! I helped teach the kids fun ways to excersize and shared some heart healthy facts! I even got to volunteer with Troy Aikmen, whose daughter attends the school! He was a very nice guy who congratulated me on my seven years of service to American Heart Association! I was even presented with my 2nd limited edition pin on behalf of American Heart Association for my volunteer efforts!!

American Heart Association
I have been volunteering with the AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION since 2006. I have attended gala's, hosted silent auctions, visited schools, hosted health fairs, and start Heart walks. One of my biggest passions with AHA is the Jump and Hoops for heart program. I host assemblies at elementary schools, educating children on the importance of healthy diet and exercise habits. I also encourage children to go out into the neighborhoods and raise money for life saving research. I then come back to the schools a week later to give out prizes to the children who raise the most money. I then take the kids onto the blacktop and teach them healthy ways to exercise using a jump rope or basketball! I am also highly involved with Go Red for Women. Heart disease is the number one killer of women, beating the next 3 leading causes combined!
In 2006, I was also named one of the youngest people to chair a campaign for American Cancer Society. I was a tri- county chair for Daffodil Days, this is a program where Daffodils are purchased as a sign of hope. Monetary donations are used to deliver Daffodils to Cancer patients in the hospital. I visited several childrens hospitals and helped the kids paint vases for their new flowers! I have volunteered at Mission Delivery for Relay for Life. I was even honored to be able to dance with the Laker Girls to warm up runners for the 24 hour run!
I have also volunteered with Hospice of the Conejo, where I ran my own fundraiser event to raise money for the terminally ill, to help assist in paying their medical bills. Ive also paired with the ALS association (Lou Gehrig’s disease) to fundraise for a cure through holding several auctions and raffles. Ive also sold food and drinks at The Largest civil war reenactment left of the Mississippi to raise money for the Rotary club and hosted a fundraiser to find jobs for mentally challenged adults! I am also very
