Mexico- Kids Kingdom

I most recently was able to visit the Kids Kingdom of Ensenada Mexico. A home for children who have lost parents due to various reasons. While my spanish may not be perfect, the kids understood the language of love, and that is what truly matters.

Currently there are forty children at the home ranging in age from three to twenty-one. All, but the youngest child, now attend public school and two are in University. The schools in Mexico are not free; many families can’t afford to educate their children, so the privilege to attend school  is a huge blessing. There are many hours of tutoring involved to get these children caught up to their grade levels.
Fully supported through the generous gifts of private donors, organizations, and churches including Calvary Chapels from the states and Ensenada, MX, Kids Kingdom is a Christian home for children that has been under the directorship of Tomás and Maricela Shockey since 1989. They, along with the loving Christian staff and missionaries have cared for, educated and loved hundreds of children from backgrounds of abandonment, neglect and abuse. It’s not uncommon for these children to arrive at the home without any previous schooling, never having felt warm water from a faucet, and many living on the streets.
Organizations like the Kids Kingdom in Mexico give children a chance at a bright future. They turn hopelessness into HOPE!
Thomas is directly working on building the self esteem of the children, one child at a time. I was able to share my personal story of loss with them ( With Thomas Interpreting) and share bible versus and psalms.

Below are some photos from the incredible experience!
