Save a heart!

Hello loved ones!

I had such an amazing time tonight! As many of you know, I have been planning the event "save a heart" for the past few weeks! Well, I am proud to announce that it was a huge success! Thank you to larry Johnson and Tony dambakly for donating their amazing voices tonight! They are amazing performers and I was so lucky to have them tonight! I also need to thank Goodfellas Pizza for allowing us their venue and for making such a generous donation to American Heart Association. Thank you to crossroads winery for donating their very special wine to our raffle! Also, Thank you to advisors integrity for donating the awesome coffee cups and baseball tickets! Thank you to my amazing parents, NONE of this would have been possible without you! and lastly, Thank you to everyone who showed up tonight and supported the American Heart Association!

Downtown Greenville Dash 5K

Hey Hey Hey!

Welcome back to my blog! On Saturday morning my mother and I took our first trip on the dart! It was much easier to take than driving to downtown Dallas because we didn't have to find parking! We got to participate in the Downtown Greenville Dash 5K for charity on the American Heart Associations passion committee team! I also got to spend quality time with my sister titleholder Rachael Burns! I also learned that AHA was appointed a new go red director, Courtney, who I got to meet for the very first time! SHe was a doll! I also got to see Lori, who is the heart walk director again, and I just adore her! They are both so sweet!

Part 2 Allen event center!

Once again, I was honored to be invited back to the allen event center for another day of wrestling! Being a "tapper" is such hard work! haha

Allen Event Center

Hello Amazing supporters!

I recieved a call tonight from the Allen Event Center asking me to come in to help out with the NCWA tournament! One of the members of their press team remembered me from the conference and reached out to me! I love when good networking pays off! I had an awesome time at the ecent tonight! They put me center court and announced my name and title, while blowing me up on the jumbotron several times throughout the night! The college wrestlers were so much fun! They all wanted their picture taken with me but were afraid they would get their sweat on me! HAHA One guy even threw me up in his arms suddenly! They invited me back again for tomorrows games!

 

I got to be a tapper, which means when the last 5 seconds of the match comes, I got to countdown out loud until zero, then tap the refs to let them know to end the match! One ref kept running from me, he told me he was going to give me a workout! lol

Allen Police department!

Hello loves!

The verdict? The police department said they are holding the trophy for six months! HAHA I love the friendly rivalry between these two departments! The policemen were extremely friendly and eager to learn about how to make themselves healthier! I even shared with them a secret trick of mine! Randmonly, throught the day, just do 60 seceonds of jumping jacks! Do this 10 times in one day ( I know it seems like a lot, but at 60 seconds a time, it flies by!) and its the equivlent cardio excersize of running one mile!!

Allen Fire dept!

Hello Friends!

Today I had the chance to visit my local fire department to invite them to my upcoming event and share with them how they can be heart healthy! After much discussion I found out that they are running a 100% survival rate with their cardiac arrest calls! What an amazing thing! I also got to meet their adorable german shepherd and sit in the drivers seat of their car! The firemen had great sences of humor, as the back of their business cards are pictures of kittens! I told them that I had a speaking engagment at the polic department later, and they informed me they recently had their annual hockey game against them and won, but that the police hadnt given them the trophy yet, so they asked me tell the police to give it to them! haha I knew this was going to fun!

Macys Visit!

As part of my new duties as a Passion Committee member for American Heart Association I had the chance to visit a local Macys store and thank them for their generous donations to our GO RED FOR WOMEN LUNCHEON!

American Heart Association Lobby Day!

Hello amazing supporters!

 

On Tuesday I got to travel to Austin ( the state capitol) to attend American Heart Associations Lobby Day! American Heart Association in supporting a very important bill focusing on teaching kids in grades 7-12 CPR before they graduate from highschool! As it stands, your chances of surviving a sudden cardiac arrest outside of the hospital are only 11%!!!!!! With tons of newly trained students around, we are hoping to increase the survival rate! I would have loved to have been trained basic CPR techniques inn Highschool! I encourage you to reach out to your lawmakers and tell them how you feel about this bill! Its currently in front of the education committee!

Today I had such an amazing opportunity to visit the Mayors office in Allen, TX, My hometown!
I got to talk to them about the importance of living a healthy lifestyle and the important legislation coming up regarding texas highschools! I also got to invite them to my even next week for AHA!

Hello My amazing supporters!
This week I got to volunteer at the Lone Star Conference here in Allen at the Stunning Allen Event Center! If you havent been, I highly reccomend checking out the state of the art facility!!
The lone Star Conference promotes education and athleticism! Basketball is a sport very near and dear to my heart, as I have played since I was a little girl! I spent the night as an usher, showing people to their seats and keeping the emergency exit doors clear! I did have a tough time staying away from all the goodies the vendors were passing out, I had my eye on some tollhouse cookies! lol I wish I could have taken more pictures but my phone died almost instantly!
